It starts

Today I finally took action to pursue the dream of writing my own blog. The word blog has always intrigued me, like many other words and acronyms which have evolved over the time with Internet and computers. My first challenge seems to be "what should I write about?"

Well, let's start with the Internet. It's big, vastly connected and appears to me with absolutely no sense of direction. Ever tried serching with random phrases on Google? Example: coffee and dishwashers

You will almost always get results, and sometimes, really unexpected ones. But the real threat is how it has started replacing our real life activities. Webinars, online events, Pod casts, Learning, socializing, expressing your opinions. The list goes on. A bunch of guys need to develop some code, no problem, you have everything available online to coordinate a project of any scale. Looking for a life partner, no difficulties there as well. Hundreds of good quality sites available for that. Need life advise? need to know your future?

Myself being an introvert and a person who doesn't normally enjoy large crowds, I have great love for the Internet as it provides my all the information and an opportunity to convert a dialogue to a monologue, shutting things out when I want them to shut out is not that difficult on the Internet.

But what scares bothers me is how it is taking away the opportunities and little experiences from us. People prefer Internet because it is convenient, cost effective, and gives you freedom to be who ever you want to be instead of who you actually are. We all do it in our real lives as well, but the Internet takes away the boundaries (ever played Second Life).

Last week I went out for coffee with some of my friends. Half the tie I was at the coffee place I was think about how loud it is, people coming in or going out causing all kinds of distractions. And not to mention it was costing me money.

My guess prediction for the near future is this:

"We will have small internet enabled chips implanted in our brains which will have us connected to our vital profile pages or places on the Internet 24/7. We will be able to sense people nearby us based on our profile matches transmitted through the microchips directly to our brains.

We will not forget about our wives birthdays because the reminder would be marked as high priority and will cause alarms going on and off with increasing urgency inside our brains till we buy the present suggested to us by her profile likes and dislikes, or we decide to blow our brains out."

So that's me, with my morning cup of tea, starting off on a journey about which I have no idea where it might lead.
